Powder Tang facts:

The powder blue tang (Acanthurus leucosternon) is a coral reef-dwelling surgeonfish that lives widespread in the Indian Ocean. The species inhabits shallow and clear coastal waters always associated with a reef.

Although tangs will eat meaty foods, they are primarily herbivores and will feed mainly on marine based seaweed and algae. The shape of its beak-like mouth is useful for accessing algae in small crevices.

Did you know? In the wild powder blue tangs typically live for about five years, however they can live up to ten years in an aquarium setting.
